Dr. J.W. Wiley currently has a joint appointment as the Chief Diversity Officer at State University of New York – Plattsburgh and a Lecturer in Philosophy/Interdisciplinary Studies. His doctorate is in Educational Leadership from the University of Vermont in Burlington. Prior to his academic career, Dr. Wiley worked for three Fortune 100 companies, Hughes Aircraft Co., Rockwell International, and McDonnell Douglas Corp.

Dr. Wiley lectures, and keynotes at many businesses, and universities using his interactive presentation “Diversity Enlightenment,” through his company Xamining Diversity.

Dr. Wiley’s client list includes National Center for Atmospheric Research; Univ of Notre Dame; Vermont National Guard; Los Angeles County Fire Department; University of California San Francisco Medical Center; Pfizer Pharmaceuticals; Wyeth Pharmaceuticals; Princeton’s Jr. Scholars Institute; Norwich University in Vermont; New York State Nursing Association; PACE University; University of Vermont; Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital; various school districts, high/middle  schools; Homeland Security; Bombardier; Joint Council for Economic Opportunity (JCEO); North Country Legal Services; and the Plattsburgh New York Mayor’s Office, City Council, and Police Department.

Dr. Wiley is an accomplished writer/poet. His book “The NIGGER in You: Challenging Dysfunctional Language – Engaging Leadership Moments” published in May 2013, is the inspiration for a film in production, scheduled to  complete in 2018
